We’re here to help
Fittings — Eyes actually vary in size and even shape, so you’ll need to have an accurate “fitting” to make sure the lenses will fit your eyes, both for comfort and for maximum benefit. Our optometrists take special measurements of your eyes and their surface, checking the curvature and other factors that will determine what lenses will fit. We’ll have you try on trial lenses to ensure they fit your eyes and are comfortable to use. This will ensure you’re satisfied with the comfort, feel, and clarity of vision before we commit to ordering the “real” pair.
First-time Wearers — If you’re nervous about using contacts, that’s okay — it’s perfectly normal! We’ll teach you how to apply and remove your new contact lenses, as well as cleaning, storage, and everything else you’ll need to know. Most of our patients master contact lenses within a week or so.
Healthy Habits — our friendly technicians will instruct you on the proper care and handling of your contact lenses, and you will receive a set of easy-to-understand written instructions to take home for reference. Of course, you can always call our office if you ever have any questions about your contact lenses.
Followups — We’ll schedule another appointment, usually in about 60 days, for us to check that your eyes are responding well to the lenses and to make any changes if necessary. After that, if everything is going according to plan, then you’ll only need to return for your annual exam
Annual Exams — It’s important that you schedule an exam every year so that we may re-examine your eyes and lenses. Your condition and needs can change over time, sometimes so gradually that you might not even notice. An annual exam is how we stay on top of your eye health to ensure you have the right contacts.
